URBAN FUELª line of powdered ready to drink protein are the purest whey protein powders we could find. Each 62gram serving contains over 50 grams of ion exchange resin purified whey protein isolate.

All of our products are made in the U.S.A. and all of our whey protein isolate is made in the U.S.A. Each of our URBAN FUELª protein powders contains only whey protein isolate, a small amount of soy lecithin to help the protein dissolve easily, and in some cases small amounts of flavor and non-nutritive sweetener.
Traditionally, protein quality has been measured by its Protein Efficiency Ratio (PER), a test which reflects weight gain in rats compared with a control group fed a standard protein. Any protein with a score higher than casein (2.7) is considered to be an excellent protein source. Our whey protein isolate has a PER of 3.2.

Protein Digestibility Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) is a standard measure developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to rate protein quality. Any protein with a score of 1.0 will meat all the essential requirements of a human body. The weigh protein isolate used in our product has a PDCAAS value of 1.14, exceeding FAO standards, though it must be report as the maximum permitted value of 1.0.

Whey Protein Isolate is also rich in the branched chain amino acids (BCAA) proteins isoleucine, leucine and valine. BCAAÕs are critical for building muscle and lean body mass, and improving body composition and enhancing athletic performance.

The recommended daily value for protein is 50g. However, various researchers have concluded that strength training athletes require at least 1.76g per kilogram of bodyweight to keep and gain muscle mass. (see e.g. ÒEvaluation of protein requirements for trained strength athletes.Ó (J. Applied Phys. 73(5):1986-1995, 1992 and ÒIs increased dietary protein necessary or beneficial for individuals with a physically active life style?Ó Nutr. Rev. 54:S169-175, 1996)
